I can’t really think of a stronger statement than “Don’t Ever Give Up” because it’s a multi-use statement. You can say this in a lot of different circumstances, but this is about a motivational speech about the statement and about Aids and Cancer. Valvano, the writer of the speech, uses a lot of techniques to keep the audience or reader interested like metaphors, questions or just implementing himself into the speech.  Thanks to these techniques that looked like they were mastered there was a certain hook to the speech that I couldn’t escape. Like I said before Valvano implements himself into the speech and makes it personal by mentioning sometimes of his life and how it was. He ends the speech by telling people that whether it’s AIDS or Cancer that he will never give up fighting. Although subtle that a person could miss it, there is a call to action in his statements where he tells us that no matter what, to never give up no matter the problem or situation, to keep our chin up and to never give up. And that motivates me to do better because if a normal person like him is still fighting to defeat cancer and to save lives it makes me want to do better.
